I cannot thank all of you enough that had your pond on the tour last year, for the first annual McLake pond tour, combined we managed to raise about 500 pounds of food for the McHenry County food pantry.

This years McLake Pond Tour it is going to be 82 degrees and sunny and we are inviting all those that would like to put their pond on the tour and help us raise 1 TON of food for the Lake and McHenry counties food pantries. We will be promoting the food drive in all our advertisements and web site.

The second annual McLake Pond Tour will be held June 12th and 13th 2010 from 9am till 5pm. We will be getting you, a host, a pond tour packet which will include a list of the ponds on the tour in your area. We will also give you, a host, green and blue balloons which will say pond tour on them to place on your mail box or where ever they are most visible to aid the people on the tour in finding your aquatic paradises.

We are asking those that would like to help us raise 1 TON of food, meet new friends and show off your aquatic paradise to please fill out our pond sign up sheet, you can mail, fax or go on the web site and fill out the form below. This will help to organize a better tour.

There is a three step waterfall which leads into the pond after going under one walkway. On the other side of the pond the water flows under the second walkway to a zero point filter pond which is between the house and garage. I just planted a garden around the zero point filter pond. Unfortunately the garden is planted with all seeds and bulbs so no flowers yet. There are a dozen multicolored goldfish and two yellow koi in the pond. 12

The upper pond is the smaller of the two which has three large gold fish - one red, one white, and one blue. It also has several smaller gold fish swimming around several aquatic plants. The very large lower pond has 10 large koi along with 2 red comets along with a variety of aquatic plants. The entire pond is surrounded with many perennials and annuals. 12, 13
